CLINIC: Uwanda (ph). Planned Parenthood.

CALLER: Hi. Do you guys do abortions there?

CLINIC: Yes.

CALLER: Yeah? How much does it cost?

CLINIC: That’s something that you would have to come in, they would have to discuss with you.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: But it all depends on what you’re making or any type of insurance you have.

CALLER: Well, if I don’t have any insurance — my boyfriend said he was going to pay for it all.

CLINIC: It could run anywhere from 300 to 375. But I can’t tell you that right now over the phone. That’s something you would have to come in for.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Have you had a pregnancy test yet?

CALLER: I got one from the store over the weekend, and it said it was positive.

CLINIC: Okay. Well, you would need one from a doctor.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Would you like to set up an appointment and come in for that, and then we start from there?

CALLER: I’d have to talk to my boyfriend and see —

CLINIC: Okay. Just find out with him when it’s okay with you. Now, the computers are down. So if you want anything for next week, you’re going to have to call back tomorrow. But I may be able to set you up for something for Friday. If you do decide, call me today, before 7:30. All right?

CALLER: There’s not any age requirement for having an abortion, is there?

CLINIC: No, no, no.

CALLER: Because I’ll be 14 in March, and it’s still all right? Right?

CLINIC: Not that I know of, there’s no age requirement.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: And they wouldn’t have to tell my parents or anything?

CLINIC: No. That’s something that’s all kept confidential.

CALLER: Because if my parents found out — they hate my boyfriend. They think he’s too old for me. He’s only 22, so I don’t understand the —

CLINIC: That’s something that you — that’s your own personal life, and I can understand. But you’ll come in, and here they’ll help you out the best they can. They’ll help you figure it out from here. Okay?

CALLER: And they wouldn’t have to tell anybody at all?

CLINIC: No, no. Call back before 7:30 today if you decide, okay?

CALLER: All right. Do you guys do birth control too?

CLINIC: Yeah. We do everything.

CALLER: And you wouldn’t have to tell about that either?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: So when I call back later today, is it all right if I talk to you?

CLINIC: I’m the only one here.

CALLER: What was your name?

CLINIC: My name is Maris (ph).

CALLER: Maris? Okay, thank you.
