CALLER: Hi. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: Okay. Well, the clinic that you’re calling here we don’t do any abortions here. I can give you some numbers for some other Planned Parenthoods, like one in Denver and one in Ft. Collins that does abortions.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Do you want those numbers?

CALLER: Yes, please.

CLINIC: Okay. The one in Denver is 303-321-2458. And there’s a Planned Parenthood in Ft. Collins. Their number is 970-493-0281.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay? And if you want I can also give you numbers for two different clinics in Boulder that aren’t Planned Parenthoods. They’re different clinics that do abortions. Would you want them?

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay, there’s a Boulder abortion clinic that’s 303-447-1361. And then the Boulder Valley, and that number is 303-442-5160.

CALLER: Okay. Well, could I ask you a quick question?

CLINIC: Okay, you can go ahead. I might not be the best person to answer, but go ahead.

CALLER: Okay. Well, it’s just my friend told me that since like I’ll be 14 in March that they would have to tell my parents I’m getting an abortion. But my boyfriend’s 22. Could he just sign whatever and they wouldn’t —

CLINIC: What it is right now in Colorado there is no parental notification laws, so anyone in Colorado can get an abortion without telling their parents right now.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: There’s some stuff going on in the courts where that may change, but right now you’re able to get an abortion without your parents needing to know.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, could I come in there for a pregnancy test though?

CLINIC: Yep. You can do a pregnancy test here. It would be $5.

CALLER: Okay. Well, I would want my boyfriend to be there with me.

CLINIC: Okay.

CALLER: Would that be all right?

CLINIC: Yes, that’s perfectly fine.

CALLER: Okay. It’s just we were talking about it, and we don’t want anyone to know about us. Would you buys be asking a lot of questions?

CLINIC: No. We would just have you fill out a little form with some questions on it like about when your last period was and what you would do if you were pregnant.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Uh-huh, and then everything we do here is confidential between us and you, so we wouldn’t be able to talk to anyone else about anything that you and I would talk about.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, if it ended up that I wasn’t pregnant, do you guys do birth control there?

CLINIC: Yes, we do.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, would you have to tell anybody that I was on birth control?

CLINIC: Nope. Nope. Nope. The same thing. We have a really strong confidentiality thing with just us and you.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Well, what was your name?

CLINIC: My name’s Christine.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: And we’re open until 5:00 today.

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: Okay? Did you know where we are?

CALLER: Well, my boyfriend knows.

CLINIC: Okay, great.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: All right?

CALLER: Thanks.
