CALLER: Hi. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: We do not provide abortions at this Planned Parenthood.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: You can get an abortion at the Highland Park Planned Parenthood Clinic.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Or locally you can go to the Women’s Health Center. Should I give you the local number?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: Okay. Let me just find that. It’s 727-3352.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Well, do you know — like my friend told me that — like I’ll be 14 in March, and she said that you guys have to tell my parents before I can have an abortion. But my boyfriend’s 22. Could he take care of it?

CLINIC: I actually don’t know the answer to that. I’m sorry.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: The women there should know though.

CALLER: Oh.

CLINIC: They may not be open. It’s 5 to 5. They may have closed for the day. But call them back tomorrow if they’re not in today. They should be able to answer your questions. Okay?

CALLER: Okay. Well, is it okay to have a pregnancy test where you’re at?

CLINIC: Yes.

CALLER: Would you have to tell anybody about that at all?

CLINIC: No. That would be entirely confidential.

CALLER: Okay. Well, like —

CLINIC: We’re open today until 6:30.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Yeah. You can just walk in for that if that’s what you need.

CALLER: Okay. I would just have to call my boyfriend to see if he could bring me, but would you guys have to say anything about him at all?

CLINIC: Say anything to him?

CALLER: Or just about him, like — because my friend said that you guys have to say something about him because he’s 22.

CLINIC: Oh, you’re talking about like mandatory reporting or like statutory rape stuff?

CALLER: Yeah, I guess. What do you mean?

CLINIC: I don’t know, and I’m not real sure what your question is.

CALLER: Oh.

CLINIC: We don’t really care who your boyfriend is as long as you’re in a consensual relationship.

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: If you tell us about abuse, yes, we have to report it.

CALLER: Oh, well, we’re — no. Like we’re in love. We’re going to get married.

CLINIC: Okay. And that’s perfectly fine. You need to just come up and take care of your services, and everything’s confidential.

CALLER: Okay. So like if I got on birth control there you guys wouldn’t tell anybody either?

CLINIC: No, it’s all confidential.

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Okay. Thanks.

CLINIC: Bye bye.
