CLINIC: Planned Parenthood. This is Sara.

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was wondering. Do you guys do abortions there?

CLINIC: Not here. We get you set up for them. They do the actual procedures in Spokane.

CALLER: Okay. Do you know if they would — it’s just I’m worried because like I’m going to be 14 later on this month and my friend told me that you guys would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Is he old enough to take care of it and you wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: We are strictly confidential.

CALLER: Oh.

CLINIC: We would never say anything to anybody if you didn’t want us to.

CALLER: Really?

CLINIC: Yeah.

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: No, never. (laughs) It’s your choice and it’s up to you.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: It’s just, the main reason why I’m worried about all this is because like I haven’t had my period since like December 26, and I’m scared. So.

CLINIC: So do you know that you are?

CALLER: Well, no. I just haven’t had my period for awhile.

CLINIC: Okay. So December 26. Okay, hang on. Today is March 1. Yeah, that puts you at 9.5 weeks.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: If you were. So my– what I would do, come in and take a pregnancy test.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay? So you know.

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: They’re $12 here.

CALLER: Okay. Well, my boyfriend said that he would pay for everything, so.

CLINIC: Oh, good. Then come in here, take a test, and then if you are we can make you an appointment if that’s where you want to go.

CALLER: Okay. Well, if it turned out that I wasn’t pregnant, could I get birth control there?

CLINIC: We could talk to you about it and get you set up for it, sure.

CALLER: Okay. And you wouldn’t have to tell anybody about that though?

CLINIC: No, honey. We are strictly confidential, okay?

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: We don’t say anything if you don’t want us to.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: All right. Well, the thing is, I can’t drive yet. But would my boyfriend be able to pick up the pills?

CLINIC: If you wrote a note stating that he could, yes. You would have to come in first because we’d have to see you.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: All right. What time do you normally do the pregnancy tests?

CLINIC: You can walk in for that any time. We close at 5:00.

CALLER: You close at 5:00 today?

CLINIC: Yes.

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: How long does the test take?

CLINIC: 15 minutes.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: All right. Bye.
