CLINIC: Planned Parenthood. May I help you?

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was calling to see if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: We do not.

CALLER: Oh. Well, do you know of anybody that does?

CLINIC: Yes, but I can’t give that information out over the phone.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: You would need to come in.

CALLER: Okay. I’m just really worried because I can’t tell my parents at all. I’m going to be 14 on the 20th, and my friend said that I would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Could I just have him sign whatever it is, and you wouldn’t have to tell my parents?

CLINIC: That’s correct.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: What we need to do is do a pregnancy test, because you have to have proof of pregnancy.

CALLER: Oh, okay. How much does it cost for that?

CLINIC: It’s not going to. I just need to find a place to put you.

CALLER: Well, my last period was like January 3rd. Do you think that there would be any way that I wasn’t pregnant?

CLINIC: Oh, there’s always the chance. Were you using birth control?

CALLER: No.

CLINIC: Let’s see.

CALLER: Well, if I came in there for a pregnancy test, would I be able to — say that I wasn’t pregnant. Would I be able to get birth control there too?

CLINIC: Yes.

CALLER: But would you have to tell anybody if I was on birth control though?

CLINIC: Nope.

CALLER: Really?

CLINIC: Nope, nope. I’m just trying to find an appointment date.

CALLER: Okay. But nobody has to know about my boyfriend either?

CLINIC: Nope.

CALLER: It’s just my friend said you guys would have to tell.

CLINIC: When you come in don’t tell me about your boyfriend.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: If you tell me, then yes we have to report it because of the age.

CALLER: But he was going to pay for everything.

CLINIC: There probably isn’t any cost.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: So when you come in the best thing for you to do is just not tell me or anyone here. If you do say that and it does get recorded, then yes we do have to report that because of the age. Okay?

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: My problem is that I am just so full this week. Can you come at 9:15 tomorrow morning?

CALLER: I have to call my boyfriend and see. Is it okay if I call and call you back? What was your name?

CLINIC: My name is Patrick.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: And we are gone for lunch here in a minute, between 12:30 and 1:30. So give me a call after 1:30.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Thank you.

CLINIC: Um-hmm.

CALLER: Bye.
