CLINIC: Planned Parenthood. How may I help you?

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there?

CLINIC: No, we don’t.

CALLER: Oh. Well, do you know of anybody that does?

CLINIC: You’d have to call one of the offices in Columbus.

CALLER: Oh. Well, do you have the number for that?

CLINIC: You’d have to refer to the yellow pages.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, do you know — like I’m just really worried because like, well I’ll be 14 next month, and my friend told me that they would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Could he just sign whatever it is and they wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: No. Your parents, to have anything, to have any procedure done like that under the age of 18 your parents have to sign no matter what.

CALLER: Oh. So there’s no way to not have to tell my parents?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Oh. Well, okay. But I — could I come in there for a pregnancy test? I just, I’m scared about all this because I haven’t had my period since like December 21st, and I don’t know what to do.

CLINIC: Yeah. Can you come in today like at 3:00?

CALLER: Well, I don’t know. I think so. I’d have to call my boyfriend to see, but would you have to tell my parents about that though?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Oh. Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Would it be all right if my boyfriend was there with me?

CLINIC: That would be fine.

CALLER: Okay. It’s just, we were talking about all this and we don’t want my parents to know about any of this. So —

CLINIC: Well, if you have a positive pregnancy test, in order to have an abortion done you have to tell your parents, regardless.

CALLER: Well, if it turned out that I wasn’t pregnant, could I get birth control though just so that —

CLINIC: You’d have to schedule another appointment to come in and get an exam and stuff done.

CALLER: Okay. Well, does anybody have to know if I was on birth control though?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Really?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Okay. Well, let me see if I can come in today. What was your name so I can call you back?

CLINIC: I’m the only one here, so it’s okay. You can come in at 3:00 if you can. If not, that’s okay.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: All right. So just call my boyfriend and then call you back?

CLINIC: You don’t have to call me back. You can just come in at 3:00.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, what if I couldn’t come in? Could I —

CLINIC: That’s okay.

CALLER: Well, are you guys open tomorrow?

CLINIC: No. I won’t be open again until Monday.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, are you going to be there on Monday?

CLINIC: Yes.

CALLER: Yeah?

CLINIC: Uh-huh.

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: Okay.

CALLER: Okay, thanks.

CLINIC: Thanks. Bye bye.
