CLINIC: Women’s Medical. Angela speaking.

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was calling to see if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: Yes, we do.

CALLER: Okay. Well, do you know how much it costs?

CLINIC: $370 providing that you’re under 12 weeks.

CALLER: How do you know if you are or not?

CLINIC: Do you know the first day of your last period?

CALLER: It was January 3.

CLINIC: Okay. Let me see. January 3. So right now you would be between 8 and 9 weeks.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay? So you’d probably want to get in like next week or something?

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Let’s see. Or you could even come in this week if you’d like.

CALLER: Okay. Well, I’d have to call my boyfriend to see. He said that he would take care of everything.

CLINIC: Okay.

CALLER: The thing is, I’m going to be 14 on the 19th, and my friend said that you guys would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Could he just take care of it and you wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: Yeah. We wouldn’t contact your parents.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: So it’s just, the thing is, he was going to — we were talking about all this, and we decided we don’t want anyone to know about us. But if he was paying for everything, would he have to sign anything?

CLINIC: It’s completely confidential here.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay? We do have a record on you and everything. Like we’ll have a file, a chart, but nobody has access to it but you.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: And of course the staff here.

CALLER: Okay. Well, do you guys do a pregnancy test beforehand just to make sure?

CLINIC: Yes, we do.

CALLER: Okay. Well, it’s just I haven’t had a pregnancy test yet, but I’m just really scared, so.

CLINIC: Okay. Well, if you hadn’t had a pregnancy test yet we have free pregnancy tests on a walk-in basis if you’d like to come in and take one.

CALLER: When?

CLINIC: You can come in today until 5:00.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: And then we’re — then you can come in tomorrow 8 to 5.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: So we do it every day 8 to 5. Well, we prefer that you come in after 10:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Because we have our abortion sessions in the morning, and it gets really busy.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: So it’s better for both of us if you won’t be waiting so long if you come after 8. But on Wednesday if you want to come in on Wednesday we don’t take any abortion patients on Wednesdays, so you can come in as early as you want on Wednesday. We open at 8:00.

CALLER: Okay. Well, do you know if it ended up that I wasn’t pregnant could I get birth control?

CLINIC: Of course. Yes.

CALLER: Okay. Well, how much does it cost for that?

CLINIC: You know, I’m not really sure. All I know is that they write the prescriptions here. You would have to probably come for initial office visit which would be $120.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: And then she would write you a prescription, and then you’d — then basically you’d take it to a pharmacy.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: But would anybody have to know if I was on birth control?

CLINIC: No. Nobody would have to know.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: It’s confidential.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Thank you.

CLINIC: You want to call back and make an appointment later?

CALLER: Yes.

CLINIC: Okay, thank you.

CALLER: Bye.

CLINIC: Bye.
