CLINIC: Planned Parenthood Rape Crisis Service. Becky speaking. Can I help you?

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there?

CLINIC: No, we don’t do them here.

CALLER: Do you know of any place that does?

CLINIC: We would refer you. Planned Parenthood’s policy is you need to come in here for your pregnancy test, and then we would give you the referrals that you need.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, do you have to be like a specific age for that? Like I’ll be 14 in March.

CLINIC: Okay. No, you don’t have to be a specific age.

CALLER: Okay. Well, I’m just worried because my friend said that since I’ll be 14 in March that they would have to tell my parents and everybody. But my boyfriend’s 22. Could he just sign whatever it is and they wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: No. We’re a confidential agency. We wouldn’t have to tell anybody.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Okay? Did you want to set up an appointment for a pregnancy test?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: What’s your name?

CALLER: It’s Christine.

CLINIC: C-H?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: And the last name?

CALLER: Smith.

CLINIC: Smith?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: And what’s your date of birth, Christine?

CALLER: It’s March 19, 1988.

CLINIC: Okay. Now did you want the Albion or the Brockport office?

CALLER: I’m not sure, probably the Brockport one.

CLINIC: Brockport closer to you?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: Okay. Hold on and let me check the schedule for tomorrow. We’re only in Brockport from 12:00 to 8:00 tomorrow, and then on Fridays 9:00 to 5:00. Okay?

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Hold on. (long pause) Okay. I can get you in tomorrow. What time would be good for ya?

CALLER: Well, I’m not really sure. I’d have to call my boyfriend to see when he can get off work and take me.

CLINIC: Okay.

CALLER: But in the morning would probably be the best.

CLINIC: Okay. Tomorrow the clinic is from 12:00 to 8:00.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: So Friday would be 9:00 to 5:00, okay?

CALLER: Okay. Well, could I do it tomorrow at noon then?

CLINIC: Yeah.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: I’ll put you in there for 12:00, and then you can call me back if there’s any problem with that appointment.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay? So I’ll put you in for 12:00 in the Brockport office. Now, do you know where that’s located?

CALLER: My boyfriend does.

CLINIC: It’s at Lakeside Hospital.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Yeah.

CLINIC: Okay? The Professional Building attached to the hospital?

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Second floor, Suite 203.

CALLER: Okay. Well, do you know — like if I came in there for like the pregnancy test and if it came out like that I wasn’t pregnant, do you guys have birth control there?

CLINIC: Yes.

CALLER: It’s just, we don’t want to have to go through all this again.

CLINIC: I don’t blame you.

CALLER: But you’re sure you wouldn’t have to tell anybody that I was on birth control though?

CLINIC: No. No. The only thing we can’t control is who sees you come in and out of the building, okay? But that building has a whole lot of different doctors and dentists in there, you know? So, I mean — yeah.

CALLER: Okay. So nobody would have to tell anybody though?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: We wouldn’t tell anybody. Okay?

CALLER: So let me call my boyfriend and call you back. What was your name?

CLINIC: My name is Becky.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay? Okay, and I’ll talk to you in a few minutes.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: All right.
