CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: No, but I have about three phone numbers that I could give to you.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: The closest place is in Springfield. Do you want that phone number?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: It’s 1-800-666-7298. And there’s one in Kansas City and there’s one in Tulsa if you want those phone numbers too.

CALLER: Oh, well, okay.

CLINIC: Do you want those also?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: Okay. The one in Tulsa is 1-800-821-7237. And the other one is 1-800-227-1918.

CALLER: Okay. I’m scared. And my friend told me that since I’ll be 14 in March that they would have to tell my parents that I’m getting an abortion. But my boyfriend’s 22. Could he just take care of that?

CLINIC: I don’t know. They probably want like a parent or guardian.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: I don’t know. You’ll have to ask them. But most likely they’ll want like a parent or guardian to sign for you. I don’t know.

CALLER: I’m really worried because my last period was December 14th. I just usually am pretty regular, so I don’t know.

CLINIC: Have you already taken a pregnancy test?

CALLER: No.

CLINIC: No? Okay.

CALLER: Could I come in there for that?

CLINIC: Yeah. And they’re only $5 today if you want to come in. And we’re open until 7.

CALLER: I would have to call my boyfriend to see, but I really wanted him to be there with me. Is that all right?

CLINIC: Yeah, that’s fine.

CALLER: Okay. But he doesn’t want anybody to know about this or him or be asking a whole bunch of questions. Would you guys have to say anything?

CLINIC: We’re completely confidential. So we’d only give information to you unless you gave us permission to talk to somebody else.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay? So you can come in anytime that you want to. We’re open until 7 today.

CALLER: So you’re sure whenever we come in that nobody would have to say anything to him?

CLINIC: Right.

CALLER: Okay. Well, if the pregnancy test ended up being negative, could I get birth control?

CLINIC: Yeah. We could work on getting birth control with you. You don’t have to have an exam. Do you have Medicaid or anything?

CALLER: No. He said he was going to pay for everything.

CLINIC: We could do a consultation. It’s $25, and then your pills would be about $18 a month if you’re wanting pills.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Since I don’t drive, could he come and pick up the pills?

CLINIC: Yes.

CALLER: And you guys wouldn’t have to tell anybody about it?

CLINIC: Yeah. You sign something saying that he can come and pick up your pills.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: All right. So you can come in anytime today, okay?

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: All right.

CALLER: Thank you.
