CLINIC: Planned Parenthood. This is Mary.

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: No, we don’t.

CALLER: Do you know of any place that does?

CLINIC: You might want to call the Women’s Center. That’s 230-1300.

CALLER: Okay. Do you know if there’s an age requirement for that? I’ll be 14 in March.

CLINIC: I don’t know. You’d have to call there.

CALLER: Okay. My friend told me to come and talk to you guys actually. Do you guys do the pregnancy test there?

CLINIC: Yes.

CALLER: Do you have to be a specific age for that?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: If you’re already talking about getting a termination, you don’t already know the result of the test?

CALLER: Well, I don’t — I just missed my period, and I’m scared. So I don’t know.

CLINIC: Okay. Well, we can do a test for you.

CALLER: Okay. How much does that cost?

CLINIC: Five dollars.

CALLER: So it’s all right if I’m going to be 14 in March?

CLINIC: It doesn’t matter.

CALLER: My friend told me that you guys have to tell my parents.

CLINIC: No, we don’t. All of our information is confidential.

CALLER: Okay. Well, my boyfriend actually wanted me to call and figure all this out. But he was wondering if you guys have to know that he’s 22.

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: No?

CLINIC: Uh-uh. It’s not our business. Okay?

CALLER: When do you guys do pregnancy tests?

CLINIC: You can come in anytime between 9 and 5:30.

CALLER: Do I need to make an appointment or anything?

CLINIC: Nope, it’s on a walk-in basis.

CALLER: Well, no one has to know anything or anything if I’m getting a pregnancy test?

CLINIC: No. Nobody but you and whoever you bring with you.

CALLER: Okay. Well, if I wasn’t pregnant, do you guys do birth control there?

CLINIC: We certainly do.

CALLER: And you wouldn’t have to tell anybody that I was on birth control?

CLINIC: Pardon me?

CALLER: And you wouldn’t have to tell anybody that I was on birth control?

CLINIC: No, we won’t tell anything. Like I said, everything here is confidential. It will just be between you and us. And the only time somebody would know something is if you tell him.

CLINIC: Sure.
