CALLER: Hi. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: No, we don’t.

CALLER: Do you know of anyplace that would?

CLINIC: You would have to go to an abortion facility. And they’re listed in the Yellow Pages or the phone book under abortion.

CALLER: My friend said that — I’ll be 14 in March, and she said that my parents have to sign some stuff. But can my boyfriend do it? He’s 22.

CLINIC: I don’t know, ma’am, because we don’t do abortions. You’d have to call an abortion facility and ask them.

CALLER: Okay. Would it be all right to come in there for a pregnancy test? My friend just said to go to you guys.

CLINIC: You can if you want. But if you already know you’re pregnant, I wouldn’t waste your money.

CALLER: Well, I wasn’t really sure actually.

CLINIC: Have you done a home pregnancy test?

CALLER: No.

CLINIC: I tell you what, I’m going to save you some money here. Our pregnancy tests are $25. The WIC office is in the same building we’re in. They get a grant from the state, they do the same test we do, and they’re free. So let me give you their phone number.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: It’s 936-8208. Okay?

CALLER: Do you know if it was negative if I could get birth control there?

CLINIC: You then need to come to us and make an appointment.

CALLER: But would you guys have to tell anybody if I was on birth control?

CLINIC: Oh, no, uh-uh, no. And when you’re done, if it’s negative, we’ll show you where to go from there.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay. Bye bye. Huh?

CALLER: What was your name?

CLINIC: My name’s Terry.

CALLER: Okay. Thanks.

CLINIC: Uh-huh.

CALLER: Bye.
