CLINIC: Planned Parenthood. This is Tony.

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was wondering if I could ask you a quick question?

CLINIC: Okay.

CALLER: Well, I was wondering about like — my friend told me — I’m worried about — I’m just really worried about everything. But do you guys do like abortions there?

CLINIC: No. They do it in Colorado Springs. I can give you a 1-800 number.

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: It’s 1-800-472-7162.

CALLER: What was it again?

CLINIC: 472-7162.

CALLER: Okay. Well, it’s just, the thing is, my friend told me that like I’m going to be 14 next month, and my friend said that they would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Is he old enough to take care of it, and they wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: You don’t have to have your parents’ consent.

CALLER: Oh, really?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Okay. Well, it’s just, I haven’t had a pregnancy test yet, but my period is — I haven’t had my period since like December 26, and I’m scared.

CLINIC: You haven’t taken a pregnancy test?

CALLER: Well, no.

CLINIC: You can come in here and take one. They’re $22.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay? You can just walk in for that.

CALLER: Well, would you be able to tell me right away if I was pregnant?

CLINIC: Yeah. Uh-huh. Within 3 minutes.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Well, my boyfriend said that he would pay for everything, but we were talking about all this, and we don’t want a whole bunch of people to know about us. Would he have to sign anything if he was paying?

CLINIC: No. Uh-uh.

CALLER: Oh. Okay.

CLINIC: You know, if he’s paying with cash, no.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: You would have to fill out a form, but it’s all confidential.

CALLER: Really?

CLINIC: Yeah. His name doesn’t go on it.

CALLER: Okay. Well, if it ended up that I wasn’t pregnant, could I get birth control there?

CLINIC: Yeah, uh-huh.

CALLER: But would you have to tell anybody that I was on birth control though?

CLINIC: Oh, no. Uh-uh. It’s all confidential, whatever you do here.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Yeah.

CALLER: All right. Well, do you know like — what time do you guys normally do the pregnancy tests?

CLINIC: Just whenever. You can just walk in.

CALLER: Oh. Well, what are your hours?

CLINIC: We’re open today until 4:00.

CALLER: Until 4:00?

CLINIC: Uh-huh.

CALLER: What about — how long does it normally take to do the test?

CLINIC: Well, you just fill out the paperwork and take the test, and if nobody’s here it will probably take about five minutes.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, could I get birth control right away if I wasn’t pregnant?

CLINIC: Yeah, uh-huh.

CALLER: Okay. How much does that cost?

CLINIC: The birth control is $18.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: The visit’s $25.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: So then if you did do that then we would just charge you $8.00 for the pregnancy test.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: If you ended up getting the pills.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Let’s see. What time can you come in today?

CALLER: Well, I don’t know. I’d have to call my boyfriend to see when he can get off work and take me.

CLINIC: Okay.

CALLER: But are you guys open tomorrow?

CLINIC: Yeah. We’re open from 11:00 to 4:00 tomorrow.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: All right. So I could come in like during his lunch hour or whatever?

CLINIC: Yeah.

CALLER: Okay. Well, thanks.

CLINIC: Uh-huh. Bye.

CALLER: Bye.
