CLINIC: Flagstaff Planned Parenthood. This is Melody.

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was wondering, do you guys do abortions there?

CLINIC: Yes. We do have clinics every once in awhile.

CALLER: Okay. Well, do you know — like I’m just worried because my friend — well I’ll be 14 next month.

CLINIC: Uh-huh.

CALLER: And my friend said that you guys would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Could he — is he old enough to take care of it and you wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: Well, we don’t have to inform your parents, no.

CALLER: Oh.

CLINIC: We’re not required to at this time.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: When was the first day of your last menstrual period?

CALLER: December 26.

CLINIC: Well, let’s see here. Hold on one second. I’ll be right with you.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay. Actually — well, we do have a clinic that’s going to be coming up on the 8th.

CALLER: Uh-huh.

CLINIC: We do — are you coming in from out of town?

CALLER: Well, no.

CLINIC: Are you here locally?

CALLER: Uh-huh.

CLINIC: Okay. Well, I could go ahead and take your name down. I mean, you are going to need to call back on the 4th of this month to go ahead and confirm your appointment. Did you want to go ahead and put your name down though?

CALLER: Well, I was really just wanting to get a pregnancy test to see if I actually was pregnant.

CLINIC: Yep. That would be a good idea.

CALLER: Can I do that like before then?

CLINIC: You can just come into the clinic.

CALLER: Is it just a walk-in thing?

CLINIC: Uh-huh. You just walk in.

CALLER: Okay. Well, would you have to tell anybody that I was getting a pregnancy test though?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Oh. Well, my boyfriend and I were talking about all this, and he said that he would pay for everything.

CLINIC: Uh-huh.

CALLER: Would that be all right?

CLINIC: If he comes in and pays for it, yeah.

CALLER: Okay. It’s just, we were not wanting anyone to know all about us. Would he have to sign any papers if he was paying for it?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Really?

CLINIC: Uh-uh.

CALLER: Okay. Well, if it ended up that, like if I wasn’t pregnant could I get birth control the same day?

CLINIC: It would just depend on the way our schedule looks and stuff at that time. Are you coming in today?

CALLER: Well, no. Probably not. But —

CLINIC: Okay. Then I would probably suggest giving us a call.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: And stuff. But yeah, that is a possibility. We could definitely do that for you. But as far as that goes, I would definitely just give us a call if you could early that morning so we could make sure we can get you in.

CALLER: But if I was on birth control, would anybody have to know?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Yeah. That would be up to you. That’s up to you as to who you’d want to tell.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: All right. Well, if I could think of anything else to ask, could I call and talk to you?

CLINIC: Oh, absolutely. My name’s Melody.

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: Okay. So you can just give me a call right back.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Thanks.

CLINIC: Uh-huh. Bye bye.
