CLINIC: Planned Parenthood Racine. This Jenny. How can I help you?
CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there.
CLINIC: No, we do not.
CALLER: Do you have a number for anyplace that does?
CLINIC: 1-800-472-2703.
CALLER: Okay. Where is that exactly?
CLINIC: That is Milwaukee.
CALLER: Oh, okay.
CLINIC: Okay?
CALLER: Well, I’m just really worried because my friend said that since — I’ll be 14 in March, and she said that they would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Could he just sign whatever, and they wouldn’t have to tell anybody?
CLINIC: You would want to come in and talk to someone about that. Where are you from?
CALLER: I live in Union Grove.
CLINIC: You would have to come to the Racine one and talk to someone about it.
CALLER: Okay.
CLINIC: Okay?
CALLER: So I come there and ask you guys questions?
CLINIC: Yeah. And then they can give you a list of places also.
CALLER: Well, could I come and get a pregnancy test? I’m just really worried because I haven’t had my period since December 14th, and I don’t know what to do. I’m just scared.
CLINIC: You would need to come in and get a pregnancy test and get all checked out, okay? And then someone would talk to you about it.
CALLER: Would you have to tell anybody I was there —
CLINIC: No.
CALLER: — for a pregnancy test?
CLINIC: No.
CALLER: Okay. Well, I would just really feel a lot better if my boyfriend was there with me. Would that be all right too?
CLINIC: That’s fine.
CALLER: Would you have to have him sign anything?
CLINIC: No.
CALLER: He just doesn’t want anyone to know about us.
CLINIC: No.
CALLER: All right. Well, if it said that I wasn’t pregnant, do you guys have birth control there?
CLINIC: Yes, we do.
CALLER: I just don’t want to have to worry about all this again.
CLINIC: Yes, we do.
CALLER: Would you have to tell anybody that I was on birth control?
CLINIC: No, we don’t have to tell anybody anything. It’s all confidential. We don’t tell anyone anything. We can’t release any of the information unless you sign a consent for us to release it to someone.
CALLER: Oh, okay.
CLINIC: Okay?
CALLER: Since I don’t drive or anything, is it all right if my boyfriend comes to pick up the pills?
CLINIC: You would have to sign a consent here with you. But you need to find out if you’re pregnant or not first.
CALLER: All right.
CLINIC: We’ve got to take it one step at a time.
CALLER: Okay.
CLINIC: Okay? So you need to come in and get that all checked out, okay?
CALLER: Okay.
CLINIC: All right.
CALLER: But do you guys have to tell my parents about anything at all?
CLINIC: Okay. Listen. We’re not going to tell anybody anything. It’s all confidential.
CALLER: Okay. I’m just really worried.
CLINIC: Don’t be worried. It’s all confidential, okay?
CALLER: Okay.
CLINIC: Nobody will know anything. Your file is kept here, and nothing is released unless you sign a consent form to release it.
CALLER: Okay.
CLINIC: Okay?
CALLER: I’m just so confused. I don’t know what to do.
CLINIC: Okay. You need to come here and get checked out.
CALLER: All right.
CLINIC: Okay?
CALLER: You name was Jenny?
CLINIC: Yes.
CALLER: All right. Thanks.
CLINIC: Bye bye.
CALLER: Bye.
