CLINIC: Planned Parenthood. This is Socorro. How may I help you?

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was calling to see if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: We don’t do them here, but our Tri-City office does. And we also refer out to Yakima.

CALLER: Okay. Well, do you have the number for the one in Yakkamaw?

CLINIC: Um-hmm. You may need a referral first.

CALLER: Okay. What is that?

CLINIC: We need to take a pregnancy test and write out a referral slip.

CALLER: Oh, okay. So I can come there for that?

CLINIC: Yes. We also (unclear).

CALLER: I’m just kind of worried. I’m going to be 14 later on this month, and my friend said you guys would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Could he just sign whatever it is, and you wouldn’t have to tell anybody about it anything?

CLINIC: You’re 14?

CALLER: Well, I’ll be 14 later on this month.

CLINIC: You’ll be 14? No, everything’s confidential.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Do you want to come in tomorrow at 2?

CALLER: Well I’d have to call my boyfriend to see, but maybe.

CLINIC: If you can’t make it at 2, you can go ahead and come in anyway at 2 or 3.

CALLER: I can barely here you. Can you speak up?

CLINIC: We have teen clinic tomorrow. And we’re going to start at 2:00. What we’re going to do is we’re going to get you the pregnancy test and get you the referrals that you need.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, if it turned out that I wasn’t pregnant, could I get birth control there?

CLINIC: Yes, uh-huh.

CALLER: But would you have to tell anybody if I was on birth control?

CLINIC: No. It’s completely confidential.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: So go ahead and come on in. Teen clinic is from 2 to 5:30.

CALLER: Okay. Well, if I had any other questions — I’m just really confused about all this — could I call and talk to you? What was your name again?

CLINIC: My name is Socorro.

CALLER: How do you spell that?

CLINIC: S-o-c-o-r-r-o.

CALLER: Okay. And tomorrow after 3?

CLINIC: Yeah. From 2 to 5:30.

CALLER: All right. Thank you.
