CLINIC: Kent Planned Parenthood. How can I help you?

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was calling to see — well, do you guys do abortions there?

CLINIC: We do at (Whit?) Planned Parenthood. Not in our office, however.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: We do in Federal Way, Seattle U District and Tacoma.

CALLER: Okay. Well, do you have the number for that?

CLINIC: Which one would you like?

CALLER: The Federal Way one.

CLINIC: It’s 253-661-7002.

CALLER: Okay. Where is that exactly?

CLINIC: The Federal Way one?

CALLER: Uh-huh.

CLINIC: That’s 340 8th Street Exit.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: The one that has the hospital and Home Depot.

CALLER: All right. I think I know where that is. All right. Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Well, the thing is, do you know — like I’m going to be 14 next month, and my friend said that you guys would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Could he just sign whatever it is and they wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: I don’t know. Hold on. Did you want to make an appointment?

CALLER: Well, I just wanted to ask some questions first.

CLINIC: What, because of your age?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: And getting the abortion?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: No?

CLINIC: Um-um.

CALLER: They wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, it’s just, the main reason why I’m worried about all this is like I haven’t had my period since like December 26th, and I’m just scared.

CLINIC: Okay. Have you taken a pregnancy test?

CALLER: Well, no.

CLINIC: Okay. You can get those free here.

CALLER: Really?

CLINIC: Um-hum.

CALLER: Well, what time do you normally do those?

CLINIC: We do those every day. You have to come in 30 minutes before closing.

CALLER: What time do you close?

CLINIC: Today we close at 4:30. You can come in right now if you want to.

CALLER: Well, all right. Well, I’d have to call my boyfriend to see because that would be the only way I could get there.

CLINIC: Okay.

CALLER: But it’s just we were talking about all this and he said that — well, we decided that we didn’t’ want anyone to know about us. If he was paying for everything, would he have to sign anything?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Okay? And what’s your name?

CALLER: It’s Lisa.

CLINIC: Are you coming in today?

CALLER: Oh, I don’t know. I’d have to call him to see. But are you guys open tomorrow?

CLINIC: Um-hum. 9:00 to 4:30.

CALLER: Okay. Well, if it ended up that I wasn’t pregnant could I get birth control there too?

CLINIC: Um-hum.

CALLER: But would you have to tell anybody about that though?

CLINIC: No. Everything’s totally confidential.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, if I had any other questions, could I call and talk to you?

CLINIC: Yeah. My name is Melissa.

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Okay. So let me call him and see what his timeframe is, and I’ll call you back. Is that all right?

CLINIC: Sure.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: All right. Bye bye.

CALLER: Bye.
