CLINIC: Under 18 you need a parent.

CALLER: Oh. Is there any way not to tell my parents?

CLINIC: I’m sorry. Absolutely not. I’m sorry. You have to tell them if you’re thinking of having an abortion.

CLINIC: I just told you. There is absolutely no way you can get around having an abortion and being underage.

CALLER: Okay. So it’s all right. Like, well, after the pregnancy test if like I wasn’t pregnant do you guys do birth control or anything?

CLINIC: Yes, we do do birth control.

CALLER: Would it be all right like if my boyfriend paid for it?

CLINIC: We don’t have to tell your parents about that.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Well, is it all right if my boyfriend pays for it and everything?

CLINIC: That will be fine.

CALLER: Because like he’s got a job and he’s 22. He said he would take care of everything.

CLINIC: How old are you?

CALLER: I’ll be 14 in March.

CLINIC: Okay. How old is he?

CALLER: He’s 22.

CLINIC: Okay. Our clinic hours on Tuesdays from 9:00 to 3:00, on Thursdays from 9:00 to 7:00. You need an appointment.

CALLER: Okay. Well, I’d have to call him to see if he —

CLINIC: (unclear) Okay?

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay, dear.

CALLER: But no one has to know about like birth control or the pregnancy test?

CLINIC: No one has to know about that. Now the age issue between you and him, legally he could be prosecuted. You are way underage.

CALLER: What? I don’t — what could happen?

CLINIC: He is 22 years old.

CALLER: Yeah, but we’re in love. We’re going to get married.

CLINIC: I’m not going to debate that. I am only tell you, okay? It isn’t my business. I can see you but if anybody else finds out he can be charged.

CALLER: Well, what would happen to him?

CLINIC: You need — I can’t answer that. He is overage, and you’re underage.

CALLER: Well, what should I do?

CLINIC: I don’t know.

CALLER: He’s got to drive me. He’s the only one that could take me.

CLINIC: Okay. I mean, I can see you. I’m telling you. I can see you. I am only telling you, you are underage. He is an adult.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: He could be charged.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Not by us. I don’t interfere in that. I am telling you if your parents ever find out or anything, he could be charged. You are a minor.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: He is an adult. Okay?

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: So I’m just telling you that, all right?

CALLER: Okay. Thanks.

CLINIC: Anything else?
