CLINIC: Hello, Planned Parenthood. This is Alana (ph).

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was wondering, do you guys do abortions there?

CLINIC: Yes, we do.

CALLER: Well, how much does that cost?

CLINIC: $370.

CALLER: Okay. Well, I’ll be 14 next month, and my friend told me that you guys would have to tell my parents. But —

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: — my boyfriend’s 22. Is that all right?

CLINIC: No, no. You don’t have to tell your parents.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: It doesn’t matter how old your partner is.

CALLER: Oh, really?

CLINIC: No. You don’t need to tell your parents.

CALLER: Oh, okay. All right. Well, do you guys do pregnancy tests there too?

CLINIC: Yes, we do.

CALLER: The main reason why I’m worried about all this is because I haven’t had my period since December 26th, and I’m just really scared.

CLINIC: Okay. Do you know where we’re located?

CALLER: Well, my boyfriend does. He said that he would take care of everything and take me here.

CLINIC: Let’s see. So today you can come in anytime between 1 and 4, and we can give you a pregnancy test.

CALLER: All right. Well, how long does it take for a pregnancy test?

CLINIC: Just anywhere between 15 minutes and a half an hour.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, if it turned out that I wasn’t pregnant, could I get birth control today?

CLINIC: Actually, we have walk-in teen hours on Monday. So if you wanted to come back and get pills you could come back on Monday anytime between 2 and 5.

CALLER: Would my boyfriend be able to pick up the pills? Because I can’t drive to come get them.

CLINIC: You would need to come in for an initial exam on Monday, which would be a very quick visit, probably about a half an hour as well. And then after that he could pick them up.

CALLER: Oh, okay. We were talking about all this, and we don’t want a whole bunch of people to know about us. If he was picking them up and paying for everything would he have to sign anything?

CLINIC: No, no, no. It’s completely confidential. We wouldn’t even ask him his name. He would just have to know your name and birth date. Okay?

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: Do you have any other questions?

CALLER: I don’t think so.

CLINIC: Okay.

CALLER: But I could come in today for a pregnancy test?

CLINIC: Yep. Yep, you could.

CALLER: All right. Okay, thanks.
