CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was calling to see if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: Yes, we do.

CALLER: How much does it cost for that?

CLINIC: $320.

CALLER: I’m just kind of worried. I’m going to be 14 later on this month, and my friend told me that you guys would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Is he old enough to take care of it, and you wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: Uh-uh. You can go to court and go through a judicial bypass, and see a judge, and he’ll grant you or not grant you permission to have the procedure done without your parents knowing.

CALLER: How much does it cost for that?

CLINIC: Nothing. I could give you the number, and you could call them and set up an appointment. It’s 216-443-3453.

CALLER: Does he usually say that it’s okay?

CLINIC: Um-hmm.

CALLER: Okay. The thing is, my boyfriend said he would pay for everything in cash. But we were talking about all this, and we don’t want anyone to know about us. If he was paying for everything, would he have to sign anything —

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: — or have his name on any forms or anything?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: All right. Would you guys do a pregnancy test beforehand just to make sure that I was pregnant?

CLINIC: You haven’t done one?

CALLER: Well, no.

CLINIC: You can walk in and take a pregnancy test. They’re $10. We’ll be open tomorrow at 11:45 to 7.

CALLER: Well, if it turned out that I wasn’t pregnant, could I get birth control from you guys?

CLINIC: Yeah.

CALLER: Okay. But would you have to tell anybody if I was on birth control though?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Oh, okay. If I had any other questions, could I call and talk to you? What was your name?

CLINIC: Michele.

CALLER: Okay. Well, let me talk to my boyfriend and see. Okay. Thanks.

CLINIC: Uh-huh.
