CALLER: Hi. Yeah. Do you guys do abortion there?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: No?

CLINIC: We refer you. But the first step is to come to Planned Parenthood for a pregnancy test, then we can do referrals and stuff for you.

CALLER: Okay. Do you guys have to tell my parents about anything?

CALLER: My name is Christine.

CLINIC: Christine?

CALLER: Uh-huh.

CALLER: Smith.

CLINIC: And your date of birth?

CALLER: It’s March 19, 1988.

CLINIC: Did you want to set up an appointment?

CALLER: Well, I’d have to talk to my boyfriend to see —

CLINIC: Oh, okay.

CALLER: — if he can get off work. But you guys wouldn’t have to tell anybody at all?

CLINIC: No, no. We’re a confidential agency, okay?

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: It is expensive. The pregnancy test itself is only 15 to $17, something like that. And then if you were to go for the abortion through Planned Parenthood, it would be $460.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Just to let you know up front. But we can do referrals and stuff for you like that after the pregnancy test.

CALLER: Okay. If like after the pregnancy test, I wasn’t pregnant, do you guys do birth control there?

CLINIC: Yes.

CALLER: And you wouldn’t have to tell anybody about that either?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: The only thing we can’t control is who sees you come in here, okay? You know what I mean?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: But your first step would be to find out whether you’re pregnant or not. Okay?

CALLER: So like if my boyfriend had questions, is it all right if I call you back?

CLINIC: Sure, no problem.
