CALLER: Well, my friend told me you guys have to tell my parents before I can have an abortion.

CLINIC: Do you have to tell your parents?

CALLER: Yeah. Do I?

CLINIC: How old are you?

CALLER: I’m going to be 14 in March.

CLINIC: You’re going to be 14. I don’t know. Call Newark Mini Surgery, because I don’t know. Maybe you need an adult supervision. It don’t necessarily have to be your parent.

CALLER: My boyfriend’s 22. And we’re planning on getting married, but —

CLINIC: Who? Your boyfriend?k

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: Well, just ask him to go in with you.

CALLER: I mean, they just absolutely hate him. They think he’s too old for me.

CLINIC: No. Just ask him to go in with you; that way your parents don’t have to know. But you probably have to pay if you’re not on Medicaid.

CALLER: Okay. Well, he would pay. He would take care of everything.

CLINIC: Yeah. Just ask him to go in with you.

CALLER: And nobody would have to find out?

CLINIC: No, just them know. Nobody will find out.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Just call information and get the number to Newark Mini Surgery site, in Newark on Roosevelt Avenue.

CALLER: If I wasn’t pregnant — of it turns out that I’m not pregnant, is there any way that I could get birth control from you guys?

CLINIC: Yeah, sure. Do you want to come in here for a PT first then go for your abortion, or —

CALLER: I guess.

CLINIC: Do you know that you’re pregnant right now?

CALLER: Well, I took a pregnancy test over the weekend, and it came out positive. But —

CLINIC: Oh, okay.

CALLER: — I’m not sure if it’s right or whatever.

CLINIC: It’s up to you if you want to come here and to the PT, take a pregnancy test.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: That’s up to you.

CALLER: I’d have to talk to my boyfriend. But can I call you back?
