CALLER: Hi. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: No, we don’t.

CALLER: No? Do you know who I would talk to?

CLINIC: What you could do is come in here for a pregnancy test, and we do a pregnancy test. And then if it’s positive, we would give you referrals.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, is there anyway that — my friend told me that you guys have to tell my parents before I can have an abortion. Is that true?

CLINIC: I think from the state of New Jersey parental notification isn’t necessary.

CALLER: It’s not?

CLINIC: Not to my knowledge. But, like I said, I’d rather you come in and get a pregnancy test done, and then we would give you a referral and talk to you.

CALLER: Well, they can’t find out at all. Because my boyfriend’s 22 —

CLINIC: Well, we’re not going to call your parents and tell them.

CALLER: Yeah?

CLINIC: No. We don’t do that.

CALLER: Because if they found out —

CLINIC: We’re not going to do that.

CALLER: — they hate him. They think he’s too old for me.

CLINIC: Okay. Well, we’re not going to do that.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: So if you want, you can come in Monday or Wednesday morning. Have you ever been to our Camden office?

CALLER: No.

CLINIC: Have you ever been to any of our offices?

CALLER: No.

CLINIC: Where do you live?

CALLER: I live in Berlin.

CLINIC: In Berlin?

CALLER: Uh-huh.

CLINIC: Do you know where Chesilhurst is?

CALLER: Well, I think my boyfriend does.

CLINIC: Okay. Well, you can go over there tomorrow morning at 10:00.

CALLER: Okay, well —

CLINIC: Oh, wait. No. Never mind, today’s Tuesday. So you can go there next Tuesday at 10:00.

CALLER: Oh, all right.

CLINIC: It’s a walk-in clinic.

CALLER: Do you have to be a certain age for that or anything?

CLINIC: No, honey.

CALLER: Okay. Because I’m going to be 14 in March, so it will be okay?

CLINIC: Are you sure that you’re pregnant?

CALLER: Well, I’ve — I think so, yeah. I had a pregnancy test over the weekend. Like I took one — I got one at the store.

CLINIC: Okay. Well, you can go in there next Tuesday at 10:00, and they’ll do a pregnancy test and give you referrals.

CALLER: Okay. Well, they won’t tell anybody?

CLINIC: No. We don’t do that.

CALLER: Okay. Okay. Well, if like I wasn’t pregnant, would they be able to give me birth control or anything?

CLINIC: We could set you up for an appointment for that, yes.

CALLER: Okay. And they wouldn’t tell anybody about birth control either?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: All right. Do you want the address where they’re at?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: It’s 1000 Industrial Drive in Chesilhurst.

CALLER: Cheselhurst.

CLINIC: And it’s right off of the White Horse Pike. Do you want directions now, or do you want to call back later?

CALLER: I’ll call back later. I have to talk to my boyfriend. Is it all right if I talk to you later?

CLINIC: I don’t know — well, we’re leaving here around 5:00, so you can call back tomorrow or the next day. My name is Becky.

CALLER: Becky?

CLINIC: Yes.

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: All right. Thanks.
