CALLER: Hi. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: Not at this site. I can give you the phone number of Highland Park office.

CALLER: Okay.

CALLER: Okay. My friend told me that since I’m going to be 14 in March that my parents have to sign some stuff. But is it okay if my boyfriend does it? Because he’s 22.

CLINIC: No. Your boyfriend isn’t a substitute for parents. There are some things you can do to get around that, but you’d have to talk to one of the counselors at the Highland Park office.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Could I come to where you’re at to get a pregnancy test then?

CLINIC: Yeah, you can.

CALLER: But would you have to tell my parents about that?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: So you wouldn’t have to tell anybody at all?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Say that the pregnancy test was negative, do you guys have birth control there?

CLINIC: Yes, we do. But you need to make an appointment to get an annual done, a pap smear and everything.

CALLER: So if I’m not pregnant though, I could get birth control?

CLINIC: Well, we’d have to make an appointment for you, yeah.

CALLER: Oh. But nobody would have to know that I was on birth control?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Okay. Well, I’d have to call my boyfriend and see what time he could get off work to take me. But when do you guys normally give pregnancy tests?

CLINIC: Anytime — are you looking for today?

CALLER: Well, no because he’s at work.

CLINIC: Okay. Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9 and 3 and Tuesdays and Thursdays between noon and 6.

CALLER: Okay. What’s your name?

CLINIC: I’m sorry?

CALLER: Could I call if he has any other questions and to make the appointment? What’s your name?

CLINIC: My name is Jo (sp).

CALLER: Okay. Thanks.
