CLINIC: Planned Parenthood. This is Terry. Can you hold?

CALLER: All right.

(Pause)

CLINIC: Can I help you?

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was calling to see if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: We don’t. (Unclear) Tower Clinic in Portland. I could give you the number if you’d like.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: 797-8881.

CALLER: Okay. Well, I’m just worried. I’m going to be 14 next month, and my friend said that you guys would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Is he old enough to sign whatever it is, and they wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: Right. It’s confidential. You just need to call Portland and talk to them about that.

CALLER: The thing is I haven’t had my period since December 26th, and that’s the whole reason why I’m worried about all this.

CLINIC: Right.

CALLER: Could I come in there for a pregnancy test to actually see?

CLINIC: Do you want to come in this afternoon?

CALLER: What time?

CLINIC: How about 2:00?

CALLER: Well, I’d have to call my boyfriend to see because he said that he would take me there.

CLINIC: Well, give him a call and then call me back, okay?

CALLER: Well, if it ended up that I wasn’t pregnant, could I get birth control there too today?

CLINIC: Possibly, yes.

CALLER: Really?

CLINIC: Yeah, and if you could just give him a call and call me back before the appointment’s gone.

CALLER: Would anybody have to know if I was on birth control though?

CLINIC: No, we’re a confidential service.

CALLER: It’s just me and my boyfriend were talking about all this. And he said he would pay for everything, but we don’t want a whole bunch of people to know about us. So would he have to sign anything?

CLINIC: No. We’re a confidential service. We only need to see you.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: Thank you.

CALLER: Bye.

CLINIC: Bye.
