CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was calling to see if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: Yes, ma’am.

CALLER: Okay. Well, how much does it cost for that?

CLINIC: It’s based on how many weeks you are.

CALLER: How do you know how many weeks you are?

CLINIC: You need to go get an ultra sound.

CALLER: Okay. I just haven’t had my period since January 15th, and I’m worried. Would you guys do a pregnancy test there too?

CLINIC: Yes, they do.

CALLER: My problem is, I’m kind of worried. I’m going to be 14 on the 19th, and my friend said that you guys would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. He said he would take care of it. Would that be all right, and you wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: No, you would need a parent, sweetie.

CALLER: Oh, really?

CLINIC: Yes, ma’am.

CALLER: Well, is there any way not to tell my parents at all though?

CLINIC: You need to have a parent because you’re a minor.

CALLER: But I can’t tell them. I mean, they’d be furious if they found out.

CLINIC: Well, I mean, I don’t know what else you can do.

CALLER: Well, is there anyplace else I could go?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: No?

CLINIC: I don’t know anywhere you can go without an adult with you if you’re just 13 years old.

CALLER: Could I come in there for a pregnancy test just to make sure?

CLINIC: Yes, you can.

CALLER: But would you have to tell anybody then?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: How much does it cost for a pregnancy test?

CLINIC: It’s free. Just come in.

CALLER: What time are you guys there ’til?

CLINIC: Until 5.

CALLER: Okay. Well, my boyfriend would have to bring me. Would that be all right?

CLINIC: Yeah, he can bring you.

CALLER: But he wouldn’t have to sign anything?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Well, if turned out that I wasn’t pregnant, could I get birth control there?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: No? Where could I get it then?

CLINIC: I don’t know.

CALLER: Okay. Well, it’s just me and my boyfriend don’t want to have to worry about this anymore if I end up not being pregnant.

CLINIC: Okay. Could you give us a call back?

CALLER: Okay. And what was your name?
