CLINIC: Madison Planned Parenthood.

CALLER: Hi. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: No, we don’t.

CALLER: Do you know of anyone that does?

CLINIC: Yeah, hold on. Are you calling from Indiana?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: This is a number for Bloomington. It’s 800-828-7525. And here’s one for Indianapolis– 800-352-1901.

CALLER: Okay. I’ll be 14 in March. Do you know if they would have to have my parents sign anything? My boyfriend’s 22. Could he do that?

CLINIC: How old are you?

CALLER: I’ll be 14 in March.

CLINIC: Yeah. You would have to have a judicial bypass —

CALLER: What is that?

CLINIC: — but your boyfriend wouldn’t be able to sign anything for you.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: You would have to see a judge, and they would have to write you a bypass to have it done.

CALLER: How long does it take to get that done?

CLINIC: I’m not sure. When you call the Bloomington number or the Indianapolis number, either one of them, they’ll be able to tell you. Just tell them what your situation is, then they’ll be able to tell you because I’m not really sure, hon.

CALLER: Could I get a pregnancy test there where you’re at?

CLINIC: Uh-huh.

CALLER: Okay. Do you have to tell anybody about that at all?

CLINIC: No. Do you know that you’re pregnant?

CALLER: Well, I think so. I’m not real sure.

CLINIC: Okay.

CALLER: Like my last period was the second week in December.

CLINIC: Okay. And you’ve not taken any pregnancy test?

CALLER: No.

CLINIC: What’s a good day and time for you to come in and do that?

CALLER: I’d have to call my boyfriend. I’m not really sure. He’s the only one that could take me.

CLINIC: Okay. Then just go ahead and do that, and let me know.

CALLER: Is it okay if he comes in with me though?

CLINIC: Uh-huh.

CALLER: Well, say that I wasn’t pregnant, do you guys have birth control there?

CLINIC: Yes, we do.

CALLER: Would you have to tell anybody that I was on birth control?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Okay. Is it okay if I call you back?

CLINIC: Sure.

CALLER: What was your name?

CLINIC: My name is Paulette.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: All right.
