CLINIC: Planned Parenthood. This is Lori. May I help you?

CALLER: Yeah. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: Not here, no.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: You’d have to look in the yellow pages of the phone book.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay? That will help you. They have the listings there of who does them.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: Well, can I ask a few questions?

CLINIC: Sure.

CALLER: Okay. Well like my friend said that since like I’ll be 14 in March you guys have to tell my parents. But I can’t tell them. Is it all right like if my boyfriend signs it because he’s 22?

CLINIC: As far as the abortion goes?

CALLER: Uh-huh.

CLINIC: You know what? I don’t know.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: I think it’s confidential, but I’m not sure. You’d have to call one of the clinics that does them. What we do here, we can do a pregnancy test and then you know give you a list of places you could go, but you know other than that i can’t give out a lot of information because we’re — it’s a legal thing. We’re not supposed to.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: But I believe that it’s confidential anyway, and I’m not sure what exactly the age limit is on that, so.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: And how old is he?

CALLER: He’s 22.

CLINIC: Okay. Yeah, I would call some place that does them and see what they say.

CALLER: Okay. Well, like if I come in to take the pregnancy test do you guys have to tell anybody that I’m doing that?

CLINIC: Nope. Nope. That’s confidential. It would be $5 to get the pregnancy test done.

CALLER: Is it all right if my boyfriend brings me —

CLINIC: Certainly.

CALLER: — and takes care of that and you wouldn’t have to tell anybody about him or anything?

CLINIC: Not at all. Not at all.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: We’re here — again, we’re closing for lunch. We’re here at 2;00.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Do you want to come in this afternoon?

CALLER: Well, I’d have to call him and see, but he was also wondering if we could get birth control.

CLINIC: You sure can. Yep. You can — you know, well first find out about the pregnancy test, and then we’ll tell you all about Teen Time when you come in. But yeah, you can get birth control too. Are you sure you’re pregnant?

CALLER: Well, not really, but.

CLINIC: Okay. Well, we’re here until 6:00 tonight.

CALLER: Okay. But you’re sure you wont’ tell any about this?

CLINIC: No. Nope. It’s completely confidential, okay?

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Just you.

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: All right?

CALLER: Thanks.

CLINIC: All right.
