CLINIC: Good afternoon, Planned Parenthood.

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: Not in this office. In the New Haven office and the West Hartford office.

CALLER: Okay. Well, do you have the number for that?

CLINIC: Sure, which one?

CALLER: The New Haven one.

CLINIC: Sure. Can you hold on for one minute?

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: Thanks.

CLINIC: Hello?

CALLER: Uh-huh.

CLINIC: You said New Haven, right?

CALLER: Uh-huh.

CLINIC: It’s 387-3131.

CALLER: The thing is, I’m going to be 14 on the 20th, and my friend told me that you guys would have to tell my parents I was getting an abortion. But my boyfriend’s 22. Is he old enough to take sign whatever it is, and you wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: Yes. And we wouldn’t tell anybody no matter how old you were?

CALLER: Oh, really?

CLINIC: Um-hmm.

CALLER: Well, could I come in to where you’re at and get a pregnancy test just to make sure though?

CLINIC: Yes, you do need to do that before you go down to the —

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, how much does it cost for that?

CLINIC: A pregnancy test?

CALLER: Uh-huh.

CLINIC: Fifteen dollars. Do you have insurance?

CALLER: Well, no. My boyfriend said he would pay for everything.

CLINIC: Okay, $15 then.

CALLER: Okay. If the pregnancy test came out that I wasn’t pregnant, could I get birth control there?

CLINIC: Yes, you could.

CALLER: But would you have to tell anybody about that though?

CLINIC: Nope.

CALLER: Okay. If I had any other questions, could I call and talk to you? What was your name?

CLINIC: Kathy (sp).

CALLER: Okay. All right, thank you.

CLINIC: Yep.

CALLER: Bye.
