CLINIC: Planned Parenthood.

CALLER: Hi. I was wondering if you guys do abortions there?

CLINIC: No, we don’t.

CALLER: Oh. Well, do you know of any place that does?

CLINIC: Are you wanting the Planned Parenthood — I have a referral number I could give you.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: 1-800-472-7162.

CALLER: Okay. Well, the thing is like, I’m just worried because like — well I’m going to be 14 in March, and my friend told me that they would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Is he old enough to take care of it and they wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: You’d have to talk to them at that 800 number.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, could I come in there for a pregnancy test to see? It’s just I’m scared because I haven’t had my period since like December 21st.

CLINIC: December? Are you a patient with us?

CALLER: No.

CLINIC: No? Okay. That’s fine. A walk-in test is $22. But that’s fine.

CALLER: Okay. Well, what day do you do that?

CLINIC: Whenever you’d like.

CALLER: Oh, okay. When are your hours there today?

CLINIC: Well, we can run them up to about 3:00 on any day this week.

CALLER: Oh, okay. Well, my boyfriend said that he would pay for everything. Is it all right if he’s there with me?

CLINIC: For the test?

CALLER: Yeah.

CLINIC: That’s fine.

CALLER: Okay. But the thing is, we don’t want my parents to know about all this. So if my boyfriend’s paying would he have to sign any papers or anything?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: But you still might want to call and talk to the people at the 800 number, because I’m not sure age-wise.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: You need to call them first and talk to them.

CALLER: But if I was getting a pregnancy test would you have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Oh. Okay.

CLINIC: All righty.

CALLER: Well, if the pregnancy test came out that I wasn’t pregnant, could I get birth control there?

CLINIC: That would be great, yeah.

CALLER: It’s just we don’t want to have to go through all this again.

CLINIC: Okay.

CALLER: So — but would you have tao my — anybody if I was on birth control though?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: Okay. It’s just — the thing is, I can’t drive yet. But would my boyfriend be able to pick up the pills if I was on birth control?

CLINIC: Well, with a note from you, yes.

CALLER: Oh, okay.

CLINIC: Okay?

CALLER: I just have a lot of questions. I don’t know. But if I thought of anything else could I call and talk to you? What was your name?

CLINIC: Jeanie.

CALLER: Okay.

CLINIC: All right.

CALLER: Thanks.

CLINIC: Uh-huh.

CALLER: Bye.

CLINIC: Bye.
