CLINIC: Family Planning Associates. This is Julia.

CALLER: Hi. Yeah. I was calling to see if you guys do abortions there.

CLINIC: Yes.

CALLER: Well, much does it cost for that?

CLINIC: How many weeks are you?

CALLER: I’m not really sure. I just haven’t had my period since January 3rd, and I’m just really worried.

CLINIC: It will be 350, and you do need to be a month-and-a-half.

CALLER: Okay. The thing is, I’m going to be 14 later on this month. And my friend told me that you guys would have to tell my parents. But my boyfriend’s 22. Could he just sign whatever it is, and you wouldn’t have to tell anybody?

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: No? So — so —

CLINIC: Yeah?

CALLER: What do you mean? You wouldn’t have to tell anybody or what?

CLINIC: No. Everything is confidential.

CALLER: Oh, okay. So I could come in there and get a pregnancy test just to make sure beforehand?

CLINIC: Right. It’s Monday through Friday, 8 to 5, and it’s walk-in.

CALLER: Okay. If it turned out that I wasn’t pregnant, do you guys do birth control there?

CLINIC: Yes. That would be $80 though.

CALLER: Well, my boyfriend said that he would pay for everything. But if he was paying for everything, would he have to sign anything? We don’t want anyone to know about us.

CLINIC: No.

CALLER: All right. If I had any other questions, could I call and ask you?

CLINIC: Yes, uh-huh.

CALLER: And your name was Julia?

CLINIC: My name is Julia.

CALLER: All right.

CLINIC: Okay.
